Tivu Reclaimed Wood Butchers Block - Natural

£1,250

Rustic, sturdy and thoughtfully designed as a versatile and hard-working stand alone kitchen unit, our Tivu butcher's block uses reclaimed wooden ceiling beams from India where they are repurposed and handcrafted to create this unique and timeless piece. Sanded and lightly finished with a white wash, the mixed woods are harmonised in appearance yet still allow for subtle variations in tone and grain to shine through. Two shelves, two drawers and 4 iron hooks offer multiple storage options to keep a kitchen thoroughly organised, while lending it a laidback farmhouse aesthetic. Castors are included and can be added to the piece by our nkuku fitters on delivery if desired.

Interior Design Perspective

The Tivu Butchers Block is one of the more honest kitchen storage pieces we stock—it doesn't pretend to be delicate.

Nkuku's use of reclaimed Indian ceiling beams gives it genuine character; each piece carries visible grain and weathering that feels earned rather than manufactured. The iron frame grounds the rustic wood without overwhelming it, creating something that reads as both utilitarian and considered. This works beautifully in kitchens with open shelving or as a statement prep surface in larger dining spaces. Fair warning: reclaimed wood develops a patina over time and benefits from occasional oiling to maintain its natural warmth. It's a piece that improves with use rather than despite it.
