This piece references ancient British woodcarving traditions from the Castellau region, with mango wood construction that showcases visible grain and natural variation rather than hiding it. The natural finish and carved detailing create visual interest without overwhelming smaller hallways or living room walls. Works particularly well in transitional spaces—entryways, behind sofas, or along landing walls—where you want presence without bulk. Style with a large mirror above to balance the horizontal lines, or keep the surface minimal to let the woodwork speak. Note that natural mango wood will develop character over time, with colour deepening slightly with light exposure.

Talasa Console Table - Rubbed Black
Our Talasa Console Table is named after the Greek word for 'sea', in homage to its hand-carved undulating edge that resembles a wave. The scalloped shape was originally applied to a tray which was, in turn, based upon an antique. The mango wood is hand painted a matte black before the edges are rubbed to reveal the wood beneath. Due to the manual technique, each piece will have individual characteristics that add to their charm.
