Bobina Floor-Standing Mirror - Vellum/Distressed Black

£795

Our Bobina Mirrors are inspired by bobbin furniture - otherwise known as spool furniture - of the late 17th century. This style had legs that were generally lathe-turned into ornamental shapes in order to make a feature of them. We have expanded our best-selling range to include this oversized, statement floor-standing mirror: drawing on the bobbin characteristic, its solid mango wood frame ishand carved into pleasing spherical shapes, then hand painted contrasting black and vellum hues and finished with an antiqued, rubbed effect. Due to the artisanal techniques used, each piece will haveindividual characteristics that add to their charm.

Felix Insights

Interior Design Perspective

The Bobina Floor-Standing Mirror brings genuine historical reference to bedrooms without feeling precious or overwrought.

Inspired by 17th-century bobbin furniture, its turned mango wood legs have real ornamental presence—this isn't minimalist design, it's deliberately decorative. The distressed black finish pairs warmth with subtle patina, softening what could otherwise feel too formal. Position it in a corner to anchor a bedroom layout, or angle it near a window to amplify natural light. The wood does require occasional dusting to maintain its finish, and the turned legs mean it needs a bit of floor clearance, but that sculptural quality is precisely why it works.
